WEEKLY PROGRAM OUTLINE

First Month

Week 1:

• Discussion with OT Clinical Instructor re: learning style, feedback preferences, goals, any other information pertinent to affiliation

• Observation

• Complete observation sheet on each treatment

• Documentation

• Daily notes written by therapist and student 

• Compare notes and refine note writing abilities

Week 2-4: 

• Student will carry out 50% of primary treatment

• Student will independently complete daily notes of 50% of case load

*Within the first month students will complete:

• First project

• Required readings

• First clinical observation of Child’s Play OT staff

• Observe a re-assessment or an original evaluation

Second Month

Week 4-8:

• Student will complete 75% of treatments

• Student will complete 100% of documentation

**Within the second month student will complete

• Required readings

• Second project

• Second clinical observation of Child’s Play OT staff

• Student will complete a re-assessment of child on case load

Third Month

Week 8-12:

• Student will treat 100% of case load 

• Student will complete 100% of documentation

• Student will carry out other related tasks ex: phone calls, scheduling etc…

***Within the third month student will complete:

• Student will complete in-service for Child’s Play OT staff

• Complete required readings

• Third clinical observation of Child’s Play OT staff

• Student will complete an original evaluation
